To hang your Calla Lily, use a sturdy nail hammered directly into a wall stud, at a slight upward angle, for the most secure hold. We typically use a slightly thicker brass or gold nail, leaving enough of the nail exposed for the hole in the stem to slide over. Simply place the hole over the nail, and your Calla Lily is ready to hang.

The stem bends and coils to hold a single tapered candle. I followed the natural movement of the calla lily as it starts to dip and ruffle with time. Sculptural on its own, and beautiful once lit.

A small calla lily designed to live in your hair. The curved stem slides gently into place, allowing the flower to rest naturally.

A small note: This hairpin is made from ceramic and should be placed securely in a bun or updo. This piece cannot be used to secure a french twist, as the stem is very delicate. Like all ceramic pieces, it’s fragile and may break if dropped.

After sharing the Calla Series, so many people asked what a bouquet version would look like. What started as a simple idea quickly became one of the most challenging, fine art pieces I’ve ever made.

This bouquet is made up of eight individual ceramic calla lilies, each one hand-sculpted slowly over the course of several weeks. I found myself really drawn to the natural movement of the flower. The bends in the stem, the soft ruffling along the edges, the way the form becomes more expressive with time.

Because the piece was so fragile, I dried it directly on the kiln shelf and loaded it into the kiln as one complete piece. Every flower balances delicately against the next, so the entire process required an incredible amount of patience and care from start to finish.

Inspired by the fleeting beauty of flowers and the idea that beauty deepens with time, this bouquet preserves that moment in ceramic form.
