New York Residency
4-Week Beginner Hand Building Classes
(Tuesdays) May 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th
6:30pm - 9:30pm
Over four weeks, you’ll learn the fundamentals of hand building in a hands-on, guided setting. Each class builds on the next, giving you both structure and freedom to explore your own ideas. I’ll be there to walk you through techniques, answer questions, and help you bring your vision to life whether it’s a mug, a vase, or something sculptural.
4-Week Intermediate Hand Building Classes
(Thursdays) May 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th
6:30pm - 9:30pm
This four-week intermediate course is designed for students who already understand the basics of hand building and are ready to refine their work. Each week focuses on a category of objects, encouraging you to build with intention and create pieces that feel part of a collection. We’ll dive deeper into proportion, scale, wall thicknesses, weight distribution, surface detail, and refinement.
Workshop: Sculpt a Calla Lily
May 9th, 2026
11am - 1pm
Join us for a sculptural workshop in the studio, making a calla lily out of clay. We're using the Calla Lily as our muse, studying its movement and letting its shape guide our hands. I’ll walk everyone through how to sculpt a ceramic calla lily from start to finish. It’s a relaxing, creative morning in the studio, perfect for slowing down and making something beautiful by hand.
Workshop: Make a Charcuterie Platter
May 16th, 2026
11am - 1pm
Join us for a morning in the studio creating your own ceramic charcuterie board or platter from clay. I’ll guide you step-by-step through slab construction, shaping, refining edges, and adding subtle surface details. Whether you envision a classic serving board, an organic freeform platter, or something sculptural and statement-making, you’ll leave with a piece that’s entirely your own.
