    From four-week hand building courses to one-night painting sessions, our classes are made for slowing down and getting your hands messy. Whether you’re here to learn the basics or explore a new project, every workshop is a chance to make, play, and connect.

    Book an open studio session, a self-guided creative escape in our light-filled Silver Lake space. Bring your own project or start something new with access to our slab roller, tools, and molds. No demos, no pressure—just time and space to create at your own pace.

4-Week Hand Building Classes

Thursdays, Beginning September 4th
9am, 12pm, 3pm, or 6pm

Learn the art of hand building in a guided, four-week series. We’ll explore pinch, coil, and slab techniques, create functional and sculptural pieces, and finish with a glazing session. Perfect for beginners or those looking to deepen their skills. Your hands, your pace, and your style.

A self-guided creative session in our light-filled Silver Lake studio. Bring your own project or start something new with access to our tools, slab roller, and molds. Clay available for purchase or bring your own (cone 5/6 only). No demos or instruction—just space to play, make, and unwind.

Workshop: Build A Venus Seashell

September 7th, 2025
10am - 12pm

Shape and sculpt your own ceramic Venus Shell dish, inspired by vintage vanity pieces and the romance of the sea. A perfect Sunday morning complete with coffee, pastries, and good conversation.

Ceramics & Cinema: Roman Holiday

September 26th, 2025
6pm - 9pm

Fall in love with Audrey Hepburn’s Rome while painting our signature Florence Dinner Plate. Your design will be glazed and fired, ready to bring a little la dolce vita to your table.

FAQs

  • Studio Cosa is a ceramics studio, showroom, and creative space in Virgil Village, Los Angeles. It’s home to COSA ceramics, rotating community workshops, and open studio sessions. The space is both a place to shop our collections and a hub for classes, events, and creative connection.

  • You can shop our showroom, sign up for workshops or classes, and spend a day creating during Open Studio. We also host special events like Ceramics & Cinema, seasonal workshops, and private gatherings.

  • The showroom is open Friday–Saturday, 10am–4pm. You’re welcome to browse ceramics, artful objects, and vintage finds during those hours—no booking needed.

  • All bookings are made directly through our website. New dates for classes and workshops are released on the 15th of each month for the following month. Open Studio dates are released 60 days out at a time.

  • We’re at 900 N. Virgil Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90029 in the heart of Virgil Village.

  • Not at all. Our workshops and four-week classes are designed for beginners and anyone curious about working with clay. Open Studio is self-guided and best for those with some prior experience or a willingness to experiment independently.

  • Open Studio is self-guided studio time. You’ll have access to tools, equipment, and firing services, with the freedom to create at your own pace. Clay and underglazes are available for purchase in the studio, or you may bring your own cone 5/6 clay.

  • Classes and workshops are guided sessions led by Studio Cosa staff. Classes are multi-week and teach fundamental techniques, while workshops are one-time, project-based experiences like building our Venus Seashell dish or painting a dinner plate during a movie night.

  • Yes! Our showroom is open to the public during retail hours (Fridays + Saturdays). You’ll find one-of-a-kind COSA ceramics alongside a curated mix of artful objects and vintage pieces.

  • Ceramics & Cinema is our monthly movie-and-making night. We screen a classic film and pair it with a ceramics project inspired by the story—for example, painting mugs during Breakfast at Tiffany’s or sculpting a vase during Ghost.

  • Of course. Open Studio welcomes groups up to 4, while workshops and classes must be booked individually. If you’d like to book a private group session, reach out to us about hosting a private event.

  • Clay can be messy—wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and closed-toe shoes for safety.

  • Ceramic work takes time to dry, bisque fire, glaze, and fire again. Most pieces will be ready in 3–4 weeks. You’ll receive an email when they’re ready for pickup. Please collect your work within 30 days.

  • At this time, we do not offer shipping. All finished work must be picked up at the studio.

  • Yes! We love hosting birthdays, team gatherings, and creative group experiences. Reach out to us directly to plan something special.

  • At this time, you must be 18+ to participate in classes, workshops and open studio sessions.

  • For Open Studio, cancellations and reschedules are allowed up to 24 hours before your booking. For classes and workshops, bookings are final—cancellations made 15+ days before workshops and 7+ days before classes may be rescheduled, and you’re always welcome to find someone to take your place.
